Puffins on the Cliffs of Moher
€25.00
Yes, there are Atlantic puffins at the Cliffs of Moher, which host the largest mainland colony of puffins in Ireland.
Puffins arrive around the end of March and stay for the breeding season until August. Your best chance to spot them is during the peak months of May and June. Outside of this period, they live far out at sea. The main colony nests on Goat Island, a long, low promontory visible from the main viewing areas near O'Brien's Tower. They burrow into the grassy hillsides and cliff edges.Visit in the early morning or late evening when they are most active near their burrows.
