Green Street Dingle
Green Street, known in Irish as Sráid an Doirín is a historic and culturally significant street in Dingle. It is notable for its historical landmarks, cultural activities, and its role as a hub of trade throughout the town's history. In the 16th century, Dingle was a crucial trading port, with Green Street at its center. It was a focal point for international trade, particularly with Spanish ports like Donostia-San Sebastián. During this period, carvings of doves above certain doorways on the street discreetly indicated establishments that offered services beyond typical market fare. Prominently featured on the street is St. Mary's Church.
